Hey UMOCers and outdoor adventure enthusiast! Have you ever been up to the White Mountains in New Hampshire? How bout spent the whole weekend in a cabin full of new faces, jolly ol’ fun, and outdoor adventures. Well you have come to the right place!
Welcome to our first New-Comers cabin trip of the semester. The cabin is a very special place for UMOC! For many of us, it was our first trip with the club and the place where we have met many of our greatest pals and made so many memories! Now it’s your turn!
Itinerary:
We will be leaving at various times on Friday, so if you have a late class (or no classes at all!) on Friday don’t worry! We’ll organize cars at the Pre-Trip Meeting. Friday night we’ll all arrive at the cabin. In the morning we’ll have breakfast and then go hike for the day, cook a big meal at night, and enjoy one another’s company around a campfire into the evening! Sunday morning we can make breakfast and cars will start heading out. If you need to be back by a certain time, we’ll have cars leaving really early so we can make sure you get back to campus to finish homework or get to work. The itinerary will be explained in more detail at the Pre-Trip Meeting.
Things to bring: you will be emailed with a full list of all the things you need to bring once you RSVP for the trip. If you don’t have something like a sleeping bag, you can check it out at the Gear Locker during our pre-trip meeting. Just make sure you have a nice sturdy pair of hiking boots and comfortable clothes to hike in.
Cost of Trip: Make sure to bring $20 to the Pre-Trip meeting for gas and food. We will likely have more than enough and will be able to reimburse you at the end of the trip. Otherwise for UMOC members (paid membership dues) the trip is free! But if you haven’t paid your membership dues (which you should), please make sure to bring $5 extra to pay for the trip. Pre-Trip Meeting: will take place at 6:30 pm on Thursday night in the Gear Locker (google UMOC and it will show up on google maps). This is a MANDATORY meeting. If you can’t come due to extreme circumstances please feel to reach out.
