Hello all!!!
First and foremost, thank you thank you for all of your patience and understanding of a lack of clear communication these past couple of months. Like you may have guessed, we have no clearer idea for the fall than you do, and we are doing our best to keep you all in the loop.
-Due to UMass changes as a result of covid, in addition to continuing conversations on race and privilege in the outdoors, we have identified a need to rethink some of our current structures and systems.
-Our next step involves YOU! We have a lot of work to do and we want to make changes that are sure to reflect our values, and last for generations to come. Please reply to
umocsecretary@umass.edu if you would like to get involved, and state any specific areas you may want to help out with (i.e. club structure and logistics, incorporating sustainable DEI programs, re-writing important documents, publicity and social media, general conversation etc). Your involvement can come in many forms, and we will need help with an array of different tasks. We plan to use Facebook messenger as the main method of communication and will use Zoom and other digital platforms for larger group discussions.
